AVAMIGRATRON is the only enterprise-ready G Suite to Office 365 migration solution and here we explain our 5-step process that will render you a comprehensive migration experience!
An easy 5-step process to make your migration simple and effective!
1. Settings – Kick start your transition!
In the settings module, we configure and connect both the source Google Workspace and the target Office 365 environment with our tool.
Source Settings
In the source settings, the user must create a G-Suite app based on our G-Suite app creation guide. Once done with the app creation, the user needs to provide the required app credentials. After fulfilling all the validation processes and permissions, the source Google Workspace will be connected to our tool.
Target Settings
An Azure app must be created based on our Azure app creation Guide. After creating the Azure app, the user needs to provide the required app credentials. Now all the authorizations will be validated, and the target Office 365 environment will be connected to our tool.
Voila! source and target are connected.
2. Inventory – Get In-depth insights into Google Workspace and move ahead with clarity!
We understand that migration planning is crucial for your Google Workspace to Office 365 transition. To help you simplify your migration process, our tool provides a detailed inventory of all the G Suite apps like Google Groups, Google Classic Sites, Modern Sites, Google Shared Drive, and My Drive.
Flexible inventory features
Depending upon your need, you can get either a full inventory or a custom inventory. But fetching a full inventory firsthand will help you evaluate the volume of your data and prioritize the list of things you need to migrate primarily.
Full inventory
In full inventory, you can capture a full picture of Google Workspace, and the overall Group details (members count, conversation volume, File counts, and the group size). You will also get a clear insight into your Sites details (the number of pages and gadgets). For Shared Drive you will get details about file counts and their size and in parallel, you will get details about My Drive which includes details about the file counts and the file size.
Custom inventory
In AVAMIGRATRON you can also get customized inventory for desired users and applications. For instance, you can get customized inventory for a specific Group or a specific user’s Google Drive.
3. User mapping – The most essential step in your data migration process!
In user mapping, all the source G Suite users will be mapped to the relevant Office 365 users. By leveraging the inventory features, we verify and ensure that all the users are mapped appropriately. If there are any inactive groups or users in Google Workspace, but still, you want to migrate them to Office 365, you can map those users with a relevant existing user instead of creating an account for the inactive user in your Office 365 environment.
4. Migration – Transform to the Outlook experience!
All your data will be successfully migrated from Google Workspace to Office 365 based on user mapping. Depending upon your unique enterprise need, AVAMIGRATRON enables you to perform both full migration and custom migration.
The Types of Migration
1. Full migration
You can migrate all the Groups, Shared Drive, Sites, and My Drive of all the users.
2. Custom migration
You will have the flexibility to migrate specific Google Groups, Shared Drive, Sites, and specific users’ My Drive.
3. Batch migration
You needn’t migrate your entire Google Workspace in one go! You can migrate them in batches based on your requirement and priority. For instance, if migrating your Group emails is a high priority for you, you can easily migrate your Google Groups in the first batch. Followed by you can migrate Google Sites, Shared Drive, and all your users My Drive in the succeeding batches according to your priority.
Also, by migrating your data as batches, you can accelerate the pace of your migration and avoid throttle issues during the migration.
Google Groups Migration
Depending upon your business need, in Groups migration, all the private/public Google Groups and their conversations will be migrated either to Office 365 Unified Groups or Shared Mailbox. In emails, all the contents, from addresses, To addresses, Subject, Body, conversations, and all the attachments in Gmail will be migrated to Office 365.
*All the metadata properties will also be migrated to Office 365 Unified Groups and Shared Mailbox respectively.
Google Sites Migration
In Sites migration, Google Classic sites, and Modern sites will be migrated to SharePoint Classic Sites and Modern Sites. All the Sites in Google Workspace along with its pages will be migrated to Office 365 sites. The attachments in the pages will be migrated to SharePoint document library and the library webparts will be rendered on the site pages. All the Google Gadgets will be migrated and retained as equivalent Office 365 webparts.
*If you had created any customized gadgets in Google Sites, remediation will be done by our migration experts and those customized gadgets will also be retained as webparts in your target Office 365.
Google Shared Drive Migration
The users’ Google Shared Drive will be migrated to SharePoint Classic or Modern site document library. Based on the user mapping, the user permission in Shared Drive will be migrated to Office 365. The files and the folders in Shared Drive will be migrated to SharePoint document library.
*Metadata properties like created by, created date, modified by, and modified date will also be migrated to Office 365.
Google My Drive Migration
In Drive migration, the users’ Google Drive will be migrated to Office 365 user OneDrive or Site document library. The user permissions of files and folders will be migrated to Office 365 based on user mapping. Just like Shared Drive migration, the files and folders will be migrated to the document library.
Incremental migration – Retain your last-minute data!
While performing the migration, there would be additional data growths and changes happening in the source G Suite environment. With AVAMIGRATRON, you can take inventory of the additional last/minute data growths and migrate them to the target Office 365 environment. This will ensure that you are only migrating the incremental data and not duplicating any of the items that you have already migrated during the initial migration.
5. Report – Get live updates and track the progress of your migration then and there!
In most third-party migration tools, you will be updated about the progress of the migration through emails. AVAMIGRATRON is the only G Suite to Office 365 migration tool that provides live updates about the progress of the migration through intuitive dashboards.
In the reporting module, you can view the respective G Suite and Office 365 mappings, the list of items that are migrated successfully, the status of the migration along with the required definitions.
*The reports can also be exported and downloaded as an Excel document!
